Shares are set to extend gains from Thursday's session after the Chinese electric-car maker's President Qin Lihong said NIO plans to have 4,000 battery swapping stations operating globally by 2025. The comments were made the company's inaugural Power Day. The overall number includes aiming for 700 battery swapping stations by end of 2021, the company's drive-through battery swapping stations allow drivers to effortlessly change the battery in their cars. Nio shares remain well off recent highs after company said it had delivered 21,896 vehicles in Q2, more than double from the same period last year.

Square Inc – The payments company has confirmed it will make a hardware wallet for bitcoin, the announcement came shortly before U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren flagged growing risks posed to consumers and financial markets by the cryptocurrency market. Last month, CEO Jack Dorsey hinted in a tweet that the company was considering creating a non-custodial hardware wallet for bitcoin.
