BI Enhances Tourist Experience with New Siargao Immigration Office
MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has taken a significant step towards improving immigration services in popular tourist destinations by opening a new satellite office on the picturesque island of Siargao. The new office, located at Purok 1 Poblacion in General Luna, officially began operations on Tuesday, March 12.
BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco emphasized the importance of establishing the Siargao office, stating, “The establishment of this office in Siargao is part of our commitment to ensuring that foreign nationals have easy access to immigration services, especially in popular tourist destinations like Siargao.” He added that the new office will provide essential immigration services, including visa extensions, to foreign nationals visiting the island.
With the opening of the Siargao office, foreigners can now conveniently process immigration transactions on the island, enhancing their overall travel experience. This move aligns with the BI's goal of supporting the Department of Tourism's efforts to promote tourism in the Philippines by providing efficient and accessible immigration services to tourists and expatriates.
Commissioner Tansingco previously announced plans to establish immigration offices in other tourist hubs, including Pagadian City in Zamboanga del Sur, and Sorsogon and Davao del Sur. The opening of the Siargao office marks a significant step towards realizing this goal and improving immigration services across the country's key tourist destinations.
