DOT Caraga & 2GO Travel to Launch Direct Manila–Siargao Service This October

Butuan City, June 30, 2025 — The Department of Tourism (DOT) Caraga, in partnership with 2GO Travel, today announced plans to inaugurate a brand-new Manila–Siargao sea link, slated to begin operations this October.

Aimed at “connecting travelers and communities between Manila and Siargao in a more meaningful and accessible way,” the route is expected to significantly boost both domestic and international arrivals on Siargao Island.

To coordinate the official launch, DOT Caraga Regional Director Ivonnie B. Dumadag, EnP, CESO III, has invited local tour operators and stakeholders—including Xargao Travel and Tours—to a planning meeting on July 5, 2025 (venue to be announced). The session will cover joint promotional efforts, community engagement and operational preparations leading up to the inaugural sailing.
