Yes you are right at least about $TSLA (Tesla Motors, Inc.) . When considering a security like a stock you should ALWAYS consider both the Quality and the Price. For example when it comes to quality, $AAPL (Apple) is an extraordinary company but when it comes to price I am not sure it is fairly valued. $TSLA might be of good quality but certainly is not at a fair price. You should keep in mind that every stock has an intrinsic value which does not always equal the price. As an investor you should buy only when price is below intrinsic value and preferably when it is significantly below. This is called margin of safety and it protects us from the uncertainties of the future. Unfortunately most of the time prices are above intrinsic value and my job is to find when quality companies trade below intrinsic value. If you want to find how intrinsic value is calculated I can assist you but keep in mind it’s complicated and requires you to know some accounting. Also about Tesla, you can see in a previous post that I calculate the intrinsic value for different growth rates, check it out.
Stay safe!
